Hello everyone! I’m Mari and I write as guest blogger for Design Shuffle, a fantastic social networking site for interior designers, architects, design professionals and enthusiasts to upload their work and receive lots of exposure. I love my work because I get to explore the beautiful world of interior design every day and write about it, along with some of the great decorating ideas I discover along the way.†I’m so glad to be here as Jamie’s guest today and excited to be writing about one of my passions, chairs. In this case, one of the all time greats of chair design.
Called the most famous of Verner Panton’s works, the Panton chair (1960) was the first in the world to be created from one piece of plastic. Its shape is described as extravagant and elegant by the Vitra Design Museum. We think it’s a work of art. We love that iconic shape and the rainbow of colors we can still choose from. Today, the Panton chair can be found in rooms around the world. It’s right at home in contemporary interiors, but merges perfectly with traditional furnishings in eclectic spaces.
