| This project was particularly rewarding because it is a historic house that at once offered many opportunities and many restrictions. The residence, which was built in 1929, still had its original doors and windows, knob and tube wiring and plaster walls. But much of the structure needed to be brought up to code, so we were hired to gut and redesign the home in a way that would reflect an authentic 1920s character while also accommodating the needs of a family with three children all under the age of 8. By working with finishes and materials that honor this home’s history, maximizing every square foot and updating its functionality, we were able to give the house a vibrant future. |
